Just back from our annual visit to Buffalo, NY, and a day trip across the Canadian border to enjoy the beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Although much knitting was done in the car enroute, my needles stayed in their bag until we were well on our way home again.
On Saturday morning we darted between the rain drops and kept our fleece jackets zipped up to our chins while making our way to the Empire Grille for an elegant breakfast. This historical landmark, an old-time movie theatre (complete with player piano) was across the street.
On Sunday the weather was much improved. We made our way across the Canadian border for our annual walkabout in the flower-filled city of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Every year we play at imagining our retirement years in a pretty cottage within walking distance of the cute shops, Shaw Theater Festival, and Lake Ontario. Not to mention the vineyards and peach groves. Here are some pics. More on flickr. Sorry about such a short post. More later on in the week. …
