My love affair with all-things-bookish goes way back, so I barely paused before volunteering to help at my library’s handmade books workshop. As well, my friend Jerri had recently won this year’s MFA Contest in the Amoskeag Journal, and in honor of her award, the ‘concertina’ or ‘flower fold’ style book seemed the perfect something special.
After completing the basic blank book, single-tone origami paper, fancy scissors, and a heart-shaped hole punch were used to embellish the running theme collages. Instead of liquid glue or a glue stick, scrapbooking two-sided adhesive allowed for a nice, flat layering of the images and handmade envelopes. … You can find an easy to follow DIY tutorial here. And if you make your own concertina-style book, leave a comment with your email!

That looks like fun!
I’m going to make one of these books in place of a traditional wedding card for my nephew and his new bride. I love the ribbon ties. Remember to update your Ravelry profile to point to the new blog.
What a great idea for a wedding card, Carol! And thank you for the reminder about my Ravelry profile — where would I be without your technical follow-up?! (lol)
Very cool, Lisa!
Glad you like it, Beth!
