Getting in Touch with My Inner Canine …

Lisa Sonora Beam. A couple of us have been working through her magnificent book, The Creative Entrepreneur, and love her ideas. The step-by-step instructions for the mini-journals are on her blog and super-easy to follow. So how did I come to identify my inner canine? And a muse, no less?! Several days ago, I purchased the greeting card featuring ‘Maggie,’ fully intending to send the card off to someone as a thank you. But the more I looked at her, the more I could see myself in her direct-to-your-eyeballs look, not to mention the jaunty hat and colorful poncho. When I clip my hair back in the morning, unruly tufts squirt out and away at odd angles, just like hers, too. So I said, what the heck and started my mini-journal with Maggie’s card as my cover. The book is literally sewn together with pink embroidery floss. And lines for writing are penciled in lightly. I did all of the stitching before launching into the decorating phase.

… and her name is Maggie! It all began with my writing group’s Creativity Retreat this past Saturday. The project of the day was the Mini-Journal, as outlined by artist and entrepreneur,

Technical note: The paper in the journal is white. The background pink of the collage suggest otherwise.

So glad you’re enjoying the book…and the website articles.
Warning: making mini journals is addictive!
