A Starlit Night

tango feet
This is one of my photos. However, if a scary “privacy alert” hadn’t come up,
I’d have posted an official “Dancing with the Stars” graphic for this post.
On Tuesday night we joined thousands of other fans for a fabulous Dancing with the Stars on Tour show in Manchester, NH. The hand-applied rhinestones on the more than 300 costumes glittered all the way to our seats. The choreography was mesmerizing. My friend’s bird-watching glasses came in handy to get a close-up look at Marie (Osmond), who sang and danced, Edyta & Alec (they dance an amazing rhumba), Derek Hough (have you seen him dance Latin?!), Cheryl, Joey Lawrence, Elena, Louis (who choreographed it all and danced, too!) and the rest of the crew of professional dancers.
Not to be left out of the dance fun, we’ll be attending an evening of dancing in the private ballroom of some friends here in NH. After too many anniversary gifts of bling that she never wore anyway, my friend asked her husband if they could instead celebrate by converting the garage into a ballroom. So they did! How cool is that?! Like any professional dance space, it includes mirrors on the walls, a sound system, seating along one wall for those sitting out a dance or two, and because J is a self-confessed chocoholic, there is always a dish of something sweet to nibble, too.

Excellent photo. From a distance dance is so effortless and beautiful but up close, like in your photo, you can see it is down and dirty hard work.

Oh, that should have been, my dance class in Australia…. sadly, not here.

One of the guys in my dance class converted his living room to a permanent dance space. Twice a month we’d go over there for extra gaffiera and bolero practice in between nibbles and wine. It was great! Oh, I so miss dancing, living in rural Japan, it’s hard to find a latin dance class….

Wow – so cool. I love to see when people change something about their home to accommodate a true passion of theirs. It’s so neat. And hey – your picture works just fine there. 🙂
